General description

Construction of a 45,000‑seat stadium, to be used for 2010 FIFA World Cup football matches.

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

The architecture is inspired by local fauna and flora:

- the eighteen 50-metre-tall red masts supporting the roof rise like the necks of giraffes, 

- the seating is painted in a black and white zebra pattern.

Rainwater is collected for the air-conditioning system and showers.
